The seventh edition in Cù Bòcan's Creations series marries rare Pineau des Charentes Rouge casks and new oak casks with lightly peated spirit to explore the subtleties of smoke and the interplay of the two cask profiles. It was bottled at 46% ABV, natural colour and non-chill filtered, and the artwork is inspired by Cù Bòcan’s smoky nature. Expect this whisky to present notes of rhubarb and custard, heather smoke and sweet oak spice.
Plenty of rhubarb/raspberry sharpness meets woodsmoke, toasted almonds, shortbread, and cooked apple. There's a herbecaousness in the backdrop and plenty of honey too.
Buttery pastries, red fruits, nuts, and honey meld in a sea of heathery smoke.
Creamy, smoky, sweet and sharp.
