The second release in Tomatin's Cù Bòcan Creation series, which sees the lightly peated single malt aged in a variety of intriguing casks. For Creation #2, the whisky was drawn from a mixture of Japanese Shochu casks and European virgin oak casks - which is not a common combination by any means.
Smoky barley right from the start, followed by whiffs of citrus and biscuits.
Another whack of lemon and lime on the palate, alongside toasted sesame seeds, almonds and leafy herbs.
Almost floral on the finish, the smoke dissipating quickly.
This is my favourite from the Cu Bocan range , a stunner , lipsmackingly good, try it!!
Perfect whisky for people who want to enter the world of smokey whisky. Very interesting finish and the bottle looks very stylish. Must try whisky
WOW..!!! Speechless There are no words how this whisky tastes, well I have never tried Shochu but a whisky finished in Shochu cask is incredible in taste...very fresh and slight smoke. Pleased with it and definitely will explore their other whiskies
Very small hint of peat but a lot of character from the rare casks used to make this whisky. Pleased with it especially the shape of the bottle.
Never tasted Shochu before but this whisky give you an idea of how it might taste. Beautifully delicate whisky with very fresh tasting notes. highly recommended
