Another special single malt joins the ranks of The Hebridean Series from Tobermory – here we have the second installment of five planned annual releases from the legendary Isle of Mull-based distillery. For this expression, the team at Tobermory began with its gloriously sherried 15 Year Old single malt, and instead of bottling it up, the whisky was treated to a further nine-year stay in ex-Gonzales Byass Oloroso sherry casks. Bottled up after a total of 24 years, this one has had plenty of time to mull over all that sherried goodness. Mulling... On the Isle of Mull.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Honeyed figs, candied walnuts, zesty marmalade, sweet sponge cake, and poached plums.
Palate
Buttery toffee, Fig Rolls, and dark chocolate studded with rock salt crystals lead to a crackle of cinnamon, spiced berries, and cacao.
Finish
Crumbly vanilla fudge, balanced by subtle salt in the distance.
