Released in early 2019, this 12 year old single malt from Tobermory was launched in celebration of the distillery returning to life after a two year break! This expression slumbered peacefully in American oak casks for a dozen years before being bottled at 46.3% ABV. What a way to get back in the swing of things!
Pear, peach and apple, with a dusting of brown sugar. Greek yogurt, barley and a hint of cinnamon pastries.
Rounded malt notes once again, now a touch oily. Still packs a hearty helping of stone fruit sweetness.
A flash of orange peel, soft sawdust, toffee and dates.

Fantastic whisky! Prompted me to visit the distillery. I really rate what they make!! Masters of Malt, service is exceptional!
Even better than I remember it. Cannot understand the review saying it is peaty as it definitely is not. ( although I do like peaty whiskies as well. Great that it is available again after a long period of not being available. Discounted price very welcome.
This is a decent malt though I'd say the strongest flavours are coming from the American oak. It's a route taken by deanston also and it does bolster the light spirit in a similar way. Someone mentioned peat notes but I suspect it was the effect and feel of the oak they were picking up. Anyway, good value if you like a bourbony scotch.
Took the advantage of the discounted price. Delightful, well balanced whisky. If never tasted Tobermory whiskies before; 71 and still learning. An unexpected sweetness to it, not unlike some Irish whiskey. I'll be back for Tobermory.
My sister bought this for me for Christmas. It was absolutely fantastic ! I've been drinking Glenfiddich Solera 15 and Balvenie Doublewood 12 (Balvenie Carribean Cask very disappointing) for perhaps too long now so this was a great change. Will be buying another bottle soon. Was recommended the Ledaig 10 recently so will try this as well after enjoying the Tobermory 12 so much. Great balance. Very smooth. Nothing I didn't dislike about it.
