Oak
Mmmm, delicious unpeated Tobemory. This was distilled in 2011, finished in virgin oak casks before bottling at 57% ABV with no chill-filtering or colour added. 966 bottles were filled so this is rare. This is a distillery exclusive so the only place you can buy it is Tobermory, or here. Nowhere else.
Spicy nose with cloves, cardamon and fruity olives.
Brown sugar, honey, vanilla sponge and coconut with cloves, cinnamon and a green apple freshness.
Rich and creamy with lingering toffee.

Definitely benefits from some water. Nose: butter, olives, subtle vegetal note, cloves, a wee bit of furniture polish, green apples. Taste: baking spices, pepper, set honey, vanilla sponge, nutmeg, some oakiness, oily mouthfeel, sweet Finish: Short to medium. Creamy toffee and spice. Sweet. Taken me a while to get to know this one. It’s good, but it’s not a banger, so the £90 price tag seems a little steep to me IMHO.
