Glorious Ledaig single malt from the Tobermory distillery, which was actually called the Ledaig distillery when it was founded in 1798. Nowadays, Ledaig is the name used for the distillery's peated offerings, produced for six months of the year, like this 21-year-old single malt. Drawn from a single sherry butt and independently bottled at cask strength by That Boutique-y Whisky Company.
Batch 21 is a release of 567 bottles.
That Boutique-y Whisky Company bottles limited edition whiskies from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blends. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Big notes of oily, earthy peat join herbaceous waves of burnt pine, smoked cheese, and preserved lemons, with cigar box aromas nestling beneath.
Palate
A touch of jammy forest fruit accompanies dried black tea and cracked peppercorns, joined by oily malt earthy peat, rich old oak, and tobacco.
Finish
Green and black peppercorns linger, with a touch of smoked chilli oil, and smouldering oak.
