Ahh, Ledaig! A cracking single malt that proves Islay isn't the only place to get your hands on splendidly peaty whisky - the Tobermory distillers on the Isle of Mull also know their way around peated malt for sure. This is the 18 Year Old Ledaig single malt, which offers up hearty phenols, smoky herbs, cracked black pepper and balancing waves of sherry-soaked fruit. Excellent stuff.
Honey, baked earth with a hint of mineraly smoke, very slightly chocolatey. Orange oil and tropical fruit juice in the background.
Grassy peat with sea breeze in tow, almond butter, lemon zest, biscuit dough, honeydew melon.
Toasted barley and salty liquorice.

I visited Tobermory in 2014 and loved the Ledaig. Smashing flavour with a super aftertaste. Laphroaig used to be my favourite peaty whisky...no longer...
I definitely recommend Ledaig 18 yo to all who like peaty, salty and seaweedy whisky from the Scottish islands. Excellent and outstanding dram!
I do not profess to be a connoisseur of whisky but know what I like, and I particularly love the smokey flavour of this Ledaig. The description above does not do justice to this most satisfying single malt. Marvellous.
