Tobermory

Single Malt
The Tobermory Distillery on the picturesque Isle of Mull isn't home to just unpeated whisky. It also makes superbly smoky single malt under the name of Ledaig (that name isn't simply a coincidence, by the way - Ledaig was one of the distillery's previous names!). Distilled using the same pot stills as the classic unpeated Tobermory expression, just with peated barley instead, the whisky boasts plumes of rich, earthy, almost medicinal smoke, with underlying fresh fruit and crushed spice notes. This particular expression ages for 10 years before bottled at the very specific strength of 46.3% ABV.
Quite light and well-balanced. There is a very soft peat with a gentle smoke. Notes of barley and malt extract, with walnut and pine oil and a hint of iodine, dried fruit and nuts.
Medium-bodied and quite rich. There are notes of spice and smoke gathering above the charred oak. The peat is quiet and dry with a touch of black pepper and earth.
Medium-length and slightly smoky with spice.

Firstly I need to say I am not a fan of peated whisky, I was given this as a gift. Total peat on the nose, and therefore (me not a big pest fan) I was worried. A few drops of water and the taste is totally different. Absolutely amazing and I think it has to be in my top 5 whisky’s. Great value for money too. Credit to tobermorey
Beautiful, just beautiful .
A great whiskey from Islay! Who doesn't like peaty whiskeys, shouldn't even comment! It adds nothing of value!
Biscuity spices, lightly dried fruit & nectarous smoke. This has a nice complexity & overall slightly less in your face than Islay versions. If you like Talisker 10yr, this one will compare.
It is a nice alternative to the Islay whiskies. First time I have bought Ledaig 10 in 2013. It was GREAT. Now it is GOOD. I dont want to say I am disappointed with this whisky, but it has now definitely less smoke and it is coloured. Also it is fruitier and sweeter. Once again it is not a bad whisky by no means, but personally I would rather buy a bottle of Caol Ila 12, Laphroaig 10 or even Scarabus or Ileach
