A 15 year old from the Tobermory distillery on the Isle of Mull, this was matured in Gonzalez Byass Oloroso sherry casks.

Medium-bodied and rich. There are notes of sultanas and Oloroso sherry, lemon and orange peels with feinty, honeyed cigar box hints with requisite smoke rising gently.
Full-bodied with notes of sherried peels and winter spice, crème de cacao and peppery oak.
Long and spicy with notes of walnut and salty melted butter.
I quite liked the first two drams from the bottle. The left it for about two months, and now it's just a horrible whisky. Yes it's oily, but in the wrong way. Yes it has some coffee, but in the wrong way. It has wood, but in the wrong way. It has leather, also in the wrong way... It just really fell flat. Not only boring, but almost undrinkable. I am very very disappointed. It is almost like wine that oxidised and is now ready for the drain!! What went wrong??
Loved this. A great fruity , spicy, sherried whisky. I know this isn't as important but the presentation was great too .
I was lucky enough to discover a bottle in my local whisky shop, and what a great surprise. I love the salty sweet tobacco notes and almost leathery taste when you spend enough time with this one. I only hope i can find more.
Don't expect a sweet sherry bomb. Rather a flavourful dry sherry finish that lingers long after the last sip. truly great.
Wow, since Distell took over Burn Stewart all their whiskies have increased in quality inleaps and bounds. I am so glad it's the same with Tobermory. The 10 is one of my favorites. The 15 is just sublime. If you can get your hands on one, don't think twice. The sherry finish on this one takes it into new dimensions of saltiness and creamy mocha and chocolate. hhhhmmmm!!
