The Woodsman is a blended Scotch whisky from Whyte & Mackay (owners of Dalmore, Fettercairn, Jura and Tamnavulin), designed for use in cocktails and mixed drinks. Particularly oak-y, as you might expect from the name, with plenty of vanilla and nutty malt notes in tow. Nothing to do with Justin Timberlake's album Man of the Woods.
Sandalwood, honey, almond slices and sawdust.
Creamy vanilla, ginger root, slight grain sweetness.
A touch of smoke underneath spearmint and cinnamon.

Bit short on flavour. Usually take it in morning coffee to keep away the winter cold. Prefer single malts to be candid.
first time trying woodsman whisky and i was not let down very smooth with a sweet finish, very nice indeed

Tried Woodsman but find the description it was designed for Cocktails very misleading. This particular whisky is in many respects far superior to brands that have led the market for decades. Slightly sweet and ideal in the evening with a good book. Highly recommended.
