Wild Geese Rare is a blend of Irish whiskeys matured in bourbon casks, named for the Irish who fought during the 17th and 18th centuries. Plenty of fruit notes running its core - think vibrant citrus peels and berries. This continues with honey and vanilla, and perhaps a touch of lavender bringing a floral element into play.

I received this as a gift and living in the USA, was totally unfamiliar with this brand as it's not available here. Upon tasting it, I was greatly impressed not only with it's smoothness, (it is VERY smooth indeed) but by it's unique flavor as well. I have tasted many whiskeys over the years, some costing far more than this and none of them are as smooth and as flavorful as this most excellent Single Malt from Ireland. Sip it slowly and enjoy!
Very good Irish whiskey, i like it!!!
CAN YOU PURCHASE THIS IN THE STATES. MIKECAREY-1@LIVE.COM
I'm a big fan of Irish whiskey at the moment, but upon buying this product and its malt version at an airport. Found both the quality of the whiskey and packaging poor. I couldn't get the stopper out, the label was wonky and the whiskey was poor considering its price range. Pity indeed.
The Rare Irish is only one of four in this range made by Cooley's for Avalon; the brand owner. Award winning, the Limited Edition was awarded 93/100 by Jim Murray in his 2009 whisky bible, who describes it as "a limited edition of unlimited beauty". Unfortunately, neither the Single Malt nor the limited Edition appear to be available on this site. Pity.
