Drumshanbo Single Pot Still Inaugural Release
It's the very first release of Drumshanbo Single Pot Still Irish whiskey, produced by The Shed Distillery! Made with a combination of malted Irish barley, unmalted Irish barley and Irish Barra oats, this one is triple distilled and matured in a combo of Oloroso sherry casks and Kentucky bourbon casks. An impressive expression from the excellent distillers (their Drumshanbo Gunpowder Gin is favourite among many), and it's said to be the first whiskey to come from Connaught in over 100 years.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Vanilla heavy, with grassy malt and honeyed porridge. A slow build of spiced fruit compote and chocolate mousse.
Palate
Christmas cake, buttered rye bread, red chilli flake, milk chocolate again and some flamed orange peel brightness.
Finish
Raisin, hazelnut spread, drying spices.
