    The Macallan Quest

    The Macallan Quest was originally released for the Travel Retail market and matured in various bourbon casks, sherry-seasoned European oak casks, sherry-seasoned American oak casks, and hogsheads. The name comes from the lengths to which the folks behind Macallan go in order to acquire such casks for the whisky to age in.

    This bottle was part of a private collection - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!

    Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

    Gentle lemon notes arrive first, with milk chocolate and butterscotch leaping out afterwards.

    Palate

    Slightly spicier than the nose, with warming oak and cinnamon developing underneath caramel notes.

    Finish

    Touches of raisin and vanilla pod.

    No taste at all it’s like a local cheap whiskey money wasted

    Gentle and warm

    Very good. This is a nice drink which is not as smoky as many other Speyside whiskies are. Palette: oak and oat. Finish: quite long. The price is a bit high, but it's worth every penny. Highly recommended. (R)

    Tastes like Johnnie Walker Red

    Not a whisky to drink neat. Horrid aftertaste, find something better.

    Scott Meech Jan 1, 2020

    Confused Taste

    The complex flavors of this whisky do not really complement each other at all - they taste to be mixed, not married. The foretaste is smooth and silky, and the after is strong whisky, but the mid-taste is simply a confused jumble. Try something else.

    @Hoffen

    The Macallan Quest is a non-age statement bottling, so the age of the whisky is not disclosed by the distillers. The Chaps @ Master of Malt
