The Macallan
Scotland
The third release in The Macallan's wood-focused Edition series saw master perfumer Roja Dove and master whisky maker Bob Dalgarno create a whisky using their very particular sets of skills. Dove pinned down the flavour profile for Edition No. 3 by using the same formula he would for a perfume: pinpointing complementary aromas, and balancing these with a “counterpoint” note. The resulting liquid is a combination of six American and European oak casks, with deliciously sweet, floral notes up front.

Not bad, little strong fragrance on the nose, love the vanilla, good on the plate leads with vanilla, good finish, long and lasting. Out of the three special editions.. No 1 by far the most enjoyable, followed by No 3 and then No 2. -Nate
I've tried almost everything Macallan has made over the last 7 years including all of the 1824 series and maker edition that was sold in Costco. I have also never written a review but I had to on this one. In short, it taste like cheap perfume and I seriously considered writing Macallan asking them for my money back. You guys need to stay with what you know and stop working with Perfume makers.
Great
Did give it a try 5 consecutive evenings; well what shall I say? I am slighly disappointed especially considering that the Edition No 2 is among my TOP3 drams; the Benriach 17 PX sherry cask is the better choice for sherry bomb lovers
Looks like a huge marketing gimmick that went totally wrong. Editon No.1 & Edition No.2 were very good. This one is certainly not. A bit citrussy on the nose with an okay finish. Slightly creamish with vanilla. Good for a NAS but lacks robustness and the flavour like No.2.
