It's the sixth - and final - release in The Macallan Edition series! Macallan whisky maker Steven Bremner took inspiration from the distillery's scenic landscape, particularly the River Spey, to create this expression. American and European oak casks were chosen for Edition No.6, and they have imparted a wealth of thick toffee, spicy ginger and fresh fruit notes.

Caramelised dates, latte topped with a dusting of cinnamon and nutmeg, a hint of cedar.
More toffee and dried fruit, now with fresh orange and pear in support. A hint of oaty biscuit and chocolate in there too.
Chocolate builds on the finish, alongside citrus, apricot and allspice.

I absolutely love the complexity of this expression. Loads of vanilla, toffee, ripe dark fruit, cinnamon, nutmeg and chocolate on the nose and palate. I experience a new flavor on almost every dram; ripe banana, tobacco, citrus and sweetspice.... A lovely and succulent mouthfeel that lasts forever. My favorite of the 6 editions andI’ve had them all.
The best of the entire series. Floral on the nose, Honey, vanilla, plums and blue berries on the palate. Creamminest texture that coats the mouth. Finish long with spice, tobacco and dark chocolate aftertaste. Best NAS ever released fr Mac?
