The Macallan's annual Sherry Oak range is bolstered with the 2023 release. The 18-year-old single malt has all the classic Macallan flavours you want thanks to its maturation in a series of high-quality, hand-picked sherry-seasoned oak casks from Jerez.
Caramel, sherry-soaked sultanas, orange peel, and winter spice.
Tinned peaches, creamy vanilla, ginger snaps, dried fruit, and dark chocolate.
Cinnamon and oak char.
Dark amber colour. Aromatic. drank neat. Full rounded flavour
As a relatively new whisky drinker this was a new one to try for me, but is definitely worth the money as a treat. One to sip slowly and enjoy rather than having a number of them in a row (unless you can afford it :-) ). I tried it both with water and neat, and preferred it with the water. Very high quality and with powerful flavours, highly recommended!
Delicious whiskey, one of the best I've tried. I had mine over a little bit of ice. Lovely smokey peat taste. Not a whiskey to get drunk on. This should be enjoyed, savoured and sipped
Fabulous drink, so fruity and spicy. Caramel, ginger, orange, cinnamon, there are so many different flavours to savour. You need to sip it slowly to really indulge yourself.
Strong and deep flavour, sweet and fragrant odour. This is a very enjoyable whisky with hints of honey and citrus. Over ice this was a good drink to have with company and enjoyable after a meal.
