A rich and well-balanced single malt from The Macallan, aged for 12 years in a mix of American and European Sherry oak casks. This maturation adds layers of vanilla, spice, and dried fruit, creating a classic Speyside whisky.
Here, the proportion of American oak ex-Sherry casks is higher than in the 12 Year Old Sherry Oak, but no ex-bourbon casks are used as they are in the 12 Year Old Fine Oak release.
- Region: Speyside, Scotland.
- Maturation: American and European Sherry oak casks.
- Flavour Profile: Rich honey, dried fruit, warm spice, oak.
- Best Served: Neat, on the rocks, or in an Old FashionedCoffee
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose Classic dried fruit territory, if less intense than the Sherry Oak expression. Aromatic butterscotch too.
Palate Creamy and honeyed with some thick-cut marmalade, cinnamon and warm pastries.
Finish Fruity with vanilla and sultana.
