An exceptional 15 year old from The Macallan. This was matured in a mix of sherry and bourbon, one of the best from the Macallan Fine Oak Range..
This bottle was part of a private collection - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!

Wanted to branch out from glenlevitt (i like the Nadura). So i bought this. No comparison. The naddura tastes way better to me. Despite having a bite and costing half again as much, Macallan tastes watered down to me.
I feel people may find their purchasing skewed by the shoddy reviews of the 15yr macallan it is a very tasty dram and we'll worth the price tag I have a couple of bottles and it is a nice drinking whisky rather than a special occasions OMG whisky but worth every penny even so.
what a complete waste of money. I've had the 10, 11, 15 and 18 year old and these coloured expressions (I'm told by the Macallen rep) are supposed to be the same just different bottles. Bull*^%#! not a single one even comes close to comparing to the year expressions. Macallen has gone down hill on my opinion. I'll spend my money elsewhere. do yourself a favour and do the same. what a sad shame and a waste.
I was hoping to find something in the Macallan range near the quality of 18 that didn't cost nearly as much. Huge mistake grabbing this bottle. I'm sitting here drinking it just to kill it and get it out of my sight. The smell is deceptive, you can detect some wood and subtle fruits. As soon as it hits your tongue, all flavors disappear. Initially, it just tastes like light alcohol, extremely clinical and dry, then the alcohol begins to dissipate and you're left with what basically tastes like water. You get a bit of smoke and the tiniest hint of toffee in the finish, but that's about it. Extremely whatever, you'll do better with almost anything else for the price.
Bought this to supplement my growing collection with something that was well reviewed from Macallan in the price range. I messed up. Don't get me wrong, it's not the worst dram I've ever had. But wow.. there really isn't much to it. All i get is alcohol on the palate... Overly dry- not a hint of sweetness. You can smell a bit of oak on the nose, but not much else. I think there's a bunch of pumped up reviews out there to get this crap off the shelves. For the same price, the Lagavulin 16 is 50 times the value.
