The Lost Distillery Company
Scotland

Dalaruan was once one of the many distilleries in Campbeltown - now only a small handful remain. This is a blended malt from The Lost Distillery Company, created following plenty of research into Dalaruan as an interpretation of what their whisky could have tasted like.
Earthy/herbaceous peat smoke, paired with juicy orchard fruit.
The smoke notes become more coastal on the palate. Remains filled with apple and apricot in the background.
Herbaceous once again, with a touch of sea breeze.

overall 4/5 Nose: smoke, fruit Palate: apple, apricot Finish: Herbaceous once again, with a touch of sea breeze.
This is one of two bottles I’ve tried by the LDC (the other being Lossit.) I’ve seen decent reviews for them but that hasn’t been my experience. They’re rough around the edges and the blending just isn’t able to achieve the intended result: to approximate the homogenous flavors of a (long lost) single malt. Great idea, in theory.
