One of two new Master Distiller's releases from the summer of 2015, originally for travel retail. The Solera Reserve, like the others in the range, is made up of whiskies matured in ex-Sherry casks, American oak casks and traditional oak (i.e. refill) casks. This is what they mean by 'triple cask matured'. For the Solera Reserve a high proportion of first fill American oak is used and all the whiskies are brought together in a marrying vat that is never emptied, becoming more complex each year.
Caramelised pears and toffee apples. Classic stuff.
Fruit in syrup with cream, fudge pieces and honeycomb.
Long with vanilla and honeyed fruit.
Just bought one at Edinburgh airport beautiful , agree with the tasting notes. Richer than the Master Distiller's Reserve and worth the extra.

Smooth and warm all the way down... perfect after dinner tipple to be sipped smoking a nice mild cigar... cant find it outside of airports..shame
