A tropical expression from The Glenlivet, for Caribbean Reserve a portion of the whisky was finished in casks which previously held Caribbean rum. The distillery folks suggest adding a splash of coconut water, though we reckon a malty twist on a Mai Tai is on the cards!
Honeyed orchard fruit, tinned pear and fried banana.
Ripe tropical fruit and brown sugar, along with cinnamon pastries.
Pineapple upside down cake.

“From the first taste this became my favourite whisky ever. There is only one problem, once I started pouring and sipping I kept pouring and sipping. Normally I would maybe have a couple of glasses very occasionally so going through more than 3 quarters of a bottle in one evening is a first. Absolutely 5 stars from me.”

Tastes a bit synthetic and thin. Pairs really well with salty snacks where it's secondary character and depth appear. A real rum raisin hit. One for a party.
Possibly a little too tropical fruit for my liking. Each to their own though.
Not quite undrinkable but getting there
I love this, beautifully sweet in all areas, a bottle goes down way too quick. Better than whiskies twice the price, smooth, easy on the palate and very tasty.
Uncomplicated easy drinking SMW, great to share with newbies and such a great price! Value for money! Love all the rum finished SMW’s!
