A single cask bottling of 18 year old Glenlivet single malt, bestowed a name that hints towards the distillery's surrounding area. Evidently, Carmaferg Hill was once a landmark for whisky smugglers. Other people probably had other uses for the hill (hiking, picnics, cheese-rolling, etc.), but whisky smuggling seems like the most exciting of the lot. Only 228 bottles were produced.
Fresh orange, chocolate digestives, loads of honey and a light whiff of smoke.
Poached pear and raspberry, yet more honey, walnut and almond.
Melted butter, citrus peel, a hint of cola.
