Single Malt
The Glenlivet
Scotland
Excellent 12 year old single malt from the Glenlivet Distillery in Speyside, which enjoys its maturation in both European and American oak casks. It's an immensely popular expression which disappeared from shelves in 2015, but has since returned! A great example of the character of Glenlivet's whisky, boasting a bounty of orchard fruit, fragrant florals and honeyed malt notes carried on a creamy mouth feel.
Apricot, pineapple, greengages, citrus blossom and toasted teacake.
Buttery and vanilla-rich, though still packing all the bright fruit notes from the nose.
A soft crackle of oaky spice and malt, plus a hint of red apple juiciness.
The flavour 100% improves a couple of days after opening the bottle. This is a nice and easy to drink scotch. Nothing spectacular, yet can’t really be faulted.
Speyside no doubt. This one is quite good but not very special. At its pricetag however it’s hard to beat. Easy to drink. Easy to enjoy. Good entry level dram for those who have yet to discover whisky.
This is good shit, my default whisky anytime anywhere.
I wouldn't describe myself as a whisky afficionado but I tasted some of this particular single malt whisky recently and liked it so much, I bought another couple of bottles !! It has a slightly smoky taste to it (possibly from the barrels used to age it) that doesn't take ones breath away when swallowed - very smooth indeed...
Sweet, fruity and smooth. pleasant brake from my usual smoked go to’s
