    The Glenlivet 12 Year Old

Excellent 12 year old single malt from the Glenlivet Distillery in Speyside, which enjoys its maturation in both European and American oak casks. It's an immensely popular expression which disappeared from shelves in 2015, but has since returned! A great example of the character of Glenlivet's whisky, boasting a bounty of orchard fruit, fragrant florals and honeyed malt notes carried on a creamy mouth feel.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

Apricot, pineapple, greengages, citrus blossom and toasted teacake.

    Palate

Buttery and vanilla-rich, though still packing all the bright fruit notes from the nose.

    Finish

A soft crackle of oaky spice and malt, plus a hint of red apple juiciness.

Fruit, vanilla and oak in excellent balance.

Decide to take a break from my usual islay whisky and I am glad I did. Very smooth and rich in fruity flavours. The distinct oak on the finish is very much to my liking. This will not be my last bottle!

Very easy to drink, good nose and good taste!

Very good, sweet, fruity and easy to drink. Good nose, good taste, very smooth! Will buy more of this good stuff!

I'll be buying this one again.

This is a truly great taste experience! I put this near the top of my single malt choices. It's gentle on the tongue, yet has a very distinct flavor. Very enjoyable; drinkable. Not a challenge to to "get used to." Also, very reasonably priced.

    Thought was worse than original

Man I’ve been neglecting to try this since I thought the double barrell was just another gimmick and relentlessly tried other brands to my disappointment, finally at a whim because of short notice I bought this and am quite surprised, and actually like it better than the original because the original seemed like it had more bite as if a bad batch, but this is smoother and fruiter and the same quality if not better...

    Single Malt - Really?

Another off my list - Glenmorangie or Glenffidich in future
