Batch 2 of Glasgow 1770 Tokaji Cask Finish is an unpeated single malt that is a marriage of four casks (#16/855, #17/812, #17/813, and #17/814) which were filled into first-fill bourbon casks for at least three years and four months. They then underwent a further maturation of three years and six months in Hungarian Tokaji wine casks. A total of 1300 bottles were filled at 54.8% ABV on 3 June 2024.
On the nose find notes of rich tropical fruit, oranges, dried apricots and soft toffee, accompanied by hints of floral jasmine.
The palate is rich and robust packed with tropical fruit and notes of floral honeyed sweetness combined with mango, pineapple, orange peel and a hint of nutmeg and cinnamon spice.
A slight salinity on the finish is accompanied by a ripe fruit influence, creamy cashew nuts, planed oak, and a lasting soft peppery spice.

Theres a lot of cask here, heavy on the apricots and floral thyme honey but its well integrated at the same time. If you aren't a big fan of tokaji finished whiskys or not too into wine finishes in general this is probably not for you. Whilst it isn't subtle, it is delicious and in my opinion excellent value.
