The Glasgow Distillery Co. isn't content with just making one style of whisky - oh heavens no! Behold, 1770 Peated! As you can probably figure out from the name, this is a peated expression, made specifically with heather-rich peat from the highlands. After distillation, the whisky was matured in new American white oak casks and allowed a finishing period of around a year in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks (whereas the unpeated 1770 Whisky is aged in bourbon casks before being finished in virgin oak).
Zesty orange and a hint of quince, juxtaposed by wafts of floral smoke.
Toasty oak and burnt sugar, with dried fruit richness building.
Slightly nutty on the finish, though earthy peat continues on and on.

Real bbq smoke, orange and sweetness, oh and such an amazingly smooth dram too! Well done Glasgow Distillery!
Another great whisky by the Glasgow Distillery! Deliciously smokey, complimented with a sweetness and a moreish finish.
I am not sure what is going on with this distillery, so much promise when it was first announced. spirit tastes rough, very minty
Delicious marriage of peaty smokiness and sweet fruits! Tastes much older than it is. Glasgow Distillery is doing great things!
