This peated single malt joins the Glasgow 1770 collection following a six-year maturation. After an initial stay in fresh American white oak casks, the whisky was treated to a finishing period of one year and eleven months in a Madeira wine cask, imparting generous notes of stone fruits, ginger cake, and tobacco to the smoky barley at its core.
Sweet peat and jammy stone fruits lead the way, with fragrant notes of prunes, drying spice, and fresh tobacco.
Rich notes of dark fruit and candied ginger join marmalade, smoked honey, and grilled tropical fruits.
Chocolate coffee beans, dried berries, cinnamon biscuits, a touch of bonfire smoke.
