The Claymore Blended Whisky

The term "claymore" is from the Scottish Gaelic for "great sword", and it's an ancient style of Scottish sword used by the Highlanders. This wonderful blended whisky was created in its honour.

    CLAYMORE!!!!!

Reviews for The Claymore Blended Whisky

When I was in the Army my friends and I would yell CLAYMORE every time we drank a shot. You know nothing gets you going like a Claymore Mine. Anyway, the taste for me I drink it and think of some of the most happy go lucky days of my life. And where I am now I cannot purchase the Claymore Blended Whiskey, so finding it online I am going to order a number of bottles. And then ship them to my friends. Maybe I will even sneak a bottle into Saudi Arabia just for old time sake. "CLAYMORE!!!!!" it tastes just like I remember it.

    Lacking any whisky or alcohol

Bought some of this for medicinal purposes. Used near 1/2 a bottle to make a large hot toddy, only to taste the honey and lemon, thought I'd left the whisky out at first. I'm going to buy a hydrometer to see if there is and detectable trace of alcohol or whisky, I'm guessing about 2% proof. 40%, no way.

    Yummy!

I'd never tasted Claymore before; I'm more of an Islay girl, loving the peat and smoke of their single malts. However, my son-in-law opened this bottle, which someone had given him over 10 years ago (God only knows how long that fellow had it). It had a different label from this one; it was absolutely delicious. I really enjoyed it! How long ago was the label changed? Plan on ordering a number of bottles. Many thank and happy holidays! Mixer only

I bought some tonight as the bottle looked pretty good and I had not heard if it before and thought perhaps it had been on the shelf for a while and the price hadn't been altered for years, well perhaps I was correct and there was a good reason for it. Very strong alcoholic taste, have put it aside for mixing with cola when the mood takes me

    Mixer only cheap whiskey

Concur with previous review about the strong aroma of almost medicinal alcohol--not the aroma of a rich whiskey you'd be hoping for. This is a classic get what you pay for bargain whiskey that is unpleasant straight or even on ice--it will stand up to a mixer and makes a passable "highball" but as a stand-alone drink is rough and unappealing. On a level with other bargain brands like Whyte and MacKay and John Barr but a cut below even Dewars.
