The Claymore
The term "claymore" is from the Scottish Gaelic for "great sword", and it's an ancient style of Scottish sword used by the Highlanders. This wonderful blended whisky was created in its honour.
Concur with previous review about the strong aroma of almost medicinal alcohol--not the aroma of a rich whiskey you'd be hoping for. This is a classic get what you pay for bargain whiskey that is unpleasant straight or even on ice--it will stand up to a mixer and makes a passable "highball" but as a stand-alone drink is rough and unappealing. On a level with other bargain brands like Whyte and MacKay and John Barr but a cut below even Dewars.
Blended, but smells/tastes strongly of alcohol. not much smokiness, and a bit too sweet. Cheap in price.
This is pretty good if you want to die. Contains big doses of methanol. Made me lost my eye sight. Now I have to use black glasses and white stick. My guide dog has to write this review for me thanks a lot claymore for pimping my eyes.
It s a blend, not extraordinary but right for the 3 gbp I paid for. It s still quite a nice affair compared to other blends. Bitter, alcohol taste, smokey.
I'm having some tonight, it's ok but i just can't seem to drink it strate, i tried, the alchohol is to strong and it's messing up the flavour. With some ice and a little Dr. Pepper it's ok, but hell it's really cheap so 3 out of 5 for me.
