Nose: Chocolate covered marzipan, vanilla, tobacco leaf, liquorice root and a touch of red apple unfold. Worth spending time over.
Palate: Round and toffee'd, treacle like even, with hints of peat whilst also never losing a subtly fruity edge.
Finish: Long and eminently creamy with very subtle smoke adding complexity and intrigue.
Overall: Another batch of liquid history, with every drop coming from a distillery that's now sadly closed, including Rosebank, Brora and Port Ellen.
