Planet Earth. It's rather good, isn't it? Not only is it a habitable sphere floating around in a generally uninhabitable void, it's also got whisky. Whisky is made all over the shop, and enjoyed in a plethora of ways - which has inspired That Boutique-y Whisky Company to create the World Whisky Blend! Just like the bottle says, it's "a blend of incredible whiskies from planet Earth", and perfect for mixing. So whether you enjoy your whisky with cola, ginger ale, soda water, tonic, coconut water or even green tea, this'll be more than suitable. It's also marvellous served neat, if you're not a fan of mixing whisky...
‘That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ bottles single malts, single grains and bourbons from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blended malts and blends. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.
Notes of freshly baked bread, lots of honey and a smidge of orange marmalade, supported by slightly tart stewed apple with a sprinkle of brown sugar.
Warming and spicy, with more of that floral honey and baked crumble topping, alongside crunchy, underripe apple and pear.
A prickle of spice, toffee and vanilla pod linger alongside a slightly mineral note.
A nice smooth blend, nothing special except it should be pleasing to almost every palette even the new whiskey drinker still trying to find their way. A great compromise that should be a staple in a whiskey cabinet to pacify whatever discerning taste that drops in.
A birthday Gift. Very sweet dram in my view. Hence the ‘honey’ mentioned in the tasting notes. Not to my taste initially, but have left it a while after opening and a better dram now. Over all disappointing for my palate
I was gifted this bottle... nonetheless an impartial review. I enjoyed this with ginger ale and ice. So if you like a mixer and fancy giving it a try...do!!
Like eating wam pie: caramelized oven baked red apple with cinnamon on top, honey and sugar sweetness, vanilla, ... Sweet chemistry at work, only little countered by nuts adding just a tiny touch of drought. Using it as a mixing ingredient l'Id probably add something smoky, citrusy or spicy personally ... A medium lasting roundup of sweetness with mainly pastry, fruits and wee oak.
Confession: I am already a mad Boutique-y fan. Bought this for World Whisky Day 202o and the summit Boutique-y put online, and double wow. This is one of the coolest concepts in whisky right now and brilliantly executed. Just added another to basket. Keep kicking ass, TBWC!
