Irish single grain whiskey from Teeling! There are only an elite few Irish single grain whiskies out there at the moment, but Teeling went ahead and made theirs unique by maturing it in Californian Cabernet Sauvignon casks. Deliciously sweet with a good deal of spice and fruit hide within the Teeling Single Grain.
Honeyed apple flesh and red grape, sweet and slightly floral with fragrant vanilla and spice, evaporated milk and brown sugar.
There's treacle on the palate, but it's light and buttery with dried cranberry developing.
Into golden syrup tart and sweet egg custard now with spicy cereal.
This is a thoroughly enjoyable grain whiskey, sweet and fairly light but full of flavour.

“I was lucky enough to try this on a recent tasting. Considering grain whiskies generally lack the depth of flavour profile of malts, especially at the younger end of the scale, this whikey knocks that into a cocked hat. A great, fruit laden spicey dram from this 5yr old grain. Well done Stephen Teeling and the team and well worth the money. Very unique”

Rich and flavourful, cream, vanilla, shortbread, spice. Massive improvement on the last time I bought it the harsh ethanol note in the mid palate has gone.
I like Teeling small batch so I figured this should be worth picking up. Immediately upon smelling this I knew I made a mistake. There's some nice vanilla, honey and biscuit notes hiding behind the strongest, sharpest chemical smell I've ever smelled in a whiskey. My guess would be that it's from the wine cask. It's so overpowering this is basically undrinkable for me. Sorry Teeling I love you but this was a fail try it without the wine cask next time and it would be so much better. The Sugarbear
My wife fell in love with this Irish Whiskey, and it's an understatement when I say that she doesn't love too many whiskies. This is our new go-to!
This one I did NOT like. Way too much going on with conflicting flavours and I found it sickening and hard drinking Saying that its a good quality whiskey and a good option if you want a smooth whiskey with lots of complex flavours
Smooth and rich
