Irish single grain whiskey from Teeling! There are only an elite few Irish single grain whiskies out there at the moment, but Teeling went ahead and made theirs unique by maturing it in Californian Cabernet Sauvignon casks. Deliciously sweet with a good deal of spice and fruit hide within the Teeling Single Grain.
Honeyed apple flesh and red grape, sweet and slightly floral with fragrant vanilla and spice, evaporated milk and brown sugar.
There's treacle on the palate, but it's light and buttery with dried cranberry developing.
Into golden syrup tart and sweet egg custard now with spicy cereal.
This is a thoroughly enjoyable grain whiskey, sweet and fairly light but full of flavour.

The nose - A sweet perfumed nose with a fruity undertone. The taste, waxy smooth, sweet honey, lush grapes, pepper and wood after notes. A good lasting length into a dry pepper. With water, a butter caramel nose. Taste - smooth butterscotch sugar heaven! I'm buying a bottle this is superb
I was sold on the 'oily mouth feel'. I know it's weird, but I'm into that. This bottle doesn't disappoint... it's oily and proper tasty.
Only recently turned on to this one after a recent trip to Belfast. Recommended by a very knowledgable barman and boy was he right. I genuinely believe it's the best Irish for the price bracket out there. Very easy to drink, so be warned, you can easily find yourself half a bottle in before you know it. The wine cask finish really shows, adding a pleasant but not overpowering fruitiness. Teeling delivers once again with bells and whistles. Drink straight.
Love Teeling whiskeys. But I find this expression a little sour on the finish, I think its the lying in the wine casks. Might be my taste buds! Their Small Batch is a wonderful dram at a quite reasonable price, the 13Y/O with the calvados finish a drink for the gods.
you may like. Too raw taste for me who like more Scotch single malt (18-40 year old). However, you find special palette of this whisky.
