A very famous blended whisky, a rather good blend too. Jim Murray awarded Teacher's Highland Cream 90 points in his Whisky Bible.
Fruity, malty aromas. Just a hint of peat smoke with a good dollop of gooey toffee.
Soft smoke, barley malt and manuka honey. Hints of Malt-driven palate with soft spices.
Malt and smoke on the finish. Classic.
It was my grandfathers go to whiskey. It reminds me of Glasgow. Oily, smokey and a hint of diesel from the harbour. Not a bad daily dram on a budget.
Regardless of price, for me this is a very satisfying Scotch whiskey. I enjoy it every bit as much as a good single malt. When you factor in how inexpensive it is, it simply can’t be beat, in my estimation.
Good soice
I always find myself repurchasing this as a "How can this be so cheap in comparison". While it definitely falls short in finish and abv, it makes up for in every other category. It punches well above it's weight and most definitely is a gateway into malted peat. This will always be a go-to with newb friends when introducing scotch's.
I have been through about 20-30 bottles of Highland cream and it somehow never gets old and the taste keeps on doing its song and dance on my pallet and has a rich luxurious finish. This is worth it and then some more. I have tried nearly all whiskeys out there.
