A wonderfully well-sherried single malt from the Tamnavulin Distillery, which begins its life in American oak barrels before being finished in three different types of sherry casks! Three of 'em! Shouldn't come as a surprise, but if you're a fan of all those Christmas cakey, chocolatey, red berry-y notes, you'll probably be into this one from the Speyside-based distillery.
Brown sugar, gingersnaps and cinnamon rolls, raspberry jam and a hint of toasted malt.
Cadbury's Fruit & Nut, more pastry notes, honeycomb and Christmas cake.
Dried apricot, citrus peels and vanilla pod.
$31.98 - $62.97
Why do so many handbooks often refer to cardboard flavour in whisky? My guess it has something to do with this distillery.
Like Tamnavulin whisky very much. The sherry cask is very enjoyable. Good and cheap.
At the price this is great value. A real rich sherry taste and finish.
I can't decide on my favourite Tamnavulin between the sherry cask, red wine cask, and white wine cask versions.... they are all really nice! Highly recommend all of them to be honest, mix it up from time to time between each cask type depending on the deals on offer
I bought a Litre bottle of this from Tesco for £32:00 in December, thinking that it's probably going to be crap, if they're seemingly selling it off! How wrong I was, I absolutely loved it and have since bought another Litre bottle. I only wish my Dad was alive to taste it!!
