    Product details

    Tamnavulin Red Wine Cask Edition

A terrific Tamnavulin, showing off the distillery's skills at using interesting cask finishes for its fab single malt Scotch whisky. This time, it's red wine! The whisky is initially aged in American oak barrels, but before it gets bottled, it enjoys a stay in French Cabernet Sauvignon wine casks, imparting a whole heap of warming dark fruit and sweet spice notes. We reckon this will make for an ace autumnal dram.

    Pretty good

Sweet on the nose and full bodied on the pallette with a reasonable finish. Not much depth in flavour, but very drinkable nonetheless

    Sweet

A gift from a friend who knows I like malts from the Speyside side of town as opposed to peaty malts it is very smooth but it's so sweet almost sickly that I would stay away unless you have a very sweet palate. Just my take on it.

Only if you like red wine finished taste.

Tried a dram sample. Didn't like red wine finish. Won't buy it.
