This is the third edition of Tamdhu Quercus Alba Distinction, a single malt fully matured in American oak sherry casks. It takes six years to produce these special casks, first, oak grown in North America is transported to Spain and cut into staves that are allowed to air dry in the warm Mediterranean climate. After the coopers have assembled and toasted the casks, they're seasoned with oloroso sherry before finally making their way to Tamdhu to mature its single malt, resulting in a rich, fruity profile that's brimming with layers of honeycomb and mellow oak.
Vanilla shortbread and custard are backed by toasted oak and dried orange wheels, with a touch of herbaceous malt nestling beneath.
Rich, sweet notes of sherried fruit and oak char, with butterscotch, honeycomb, and juicy, dark plums.
Oaken vanilla, chocolate caramels, marmalade, dates, and gentle peppery warmth.

Found this at a whisky festival and was blown away at how good this so had to order it from MoM. This one is silky smooth with great vanilla flavour, very drinkable. Great dram at this price point so well worth a try.
