A fabulous Tamdhu, matured exclusively in a combination of first-fill and refill Oloroso sherry casks for 12 years. Sherried Speyside whisky is always a winner, with oodles of fruit and spice. Check out that handsome retro bottle, too. Stunning stuff.
Orange Starburst, cinnamon swirls and toasted oak, along with some mint chocolate.
Lots of plum, juicy raisin, fried banana, raspberry jam doughnuts and oak spice.
Chocolate fudge and just a whisper of smoke, with sweet cinnamon returning.
$36.92 - $121.38
My first ever malt was Tamdhu, given to me when I took early retirement. I bought this bottle as a reminder. Absolutely delighted! ?
A very smooth easy to drink malt at a very good price.
It is light and smooth to the point I would think it’s a blend, with a very sweet fruity taste. One of the more pleasant whiskeys from the Advent Calendar. I had to check that it is matured in Oloroso Sherry casks, because the colour is quite light. At 45GBP, it’s a bargain. Would definitely like to try the 15 years or Cask Strength of this one.
I am enjoying this as my evening night cap, smooth and not as sherried as the Olorosum so not overly sweet but sweeter than the 15.
I took advantage of the discount to purchase this one. Loved it. Not a "sherry-bomb", but a nice, long finish with notes of sherry and rum-raisins. I scored it 88 / 100
