A fabulous Tamdhu, matured exclusively in a combination of first-fill and refill Oloroso sherry casks for 12 years. Sherried Speyside whisky is always a winner, with oodles of fruit and spice. Check out that handsome retro bottle, too. Stunning stuff.
Orange Starburst, cinnamon swirls and toasted oak, along with some mint chocolate.
Lots of plum, juicy raisin, fried banana, raspberry jam doughnuts and oak spice.
Chocolate fudge and just a whisper of smoke, with sweet cinnamon returning.

A lovely sherried dram this. Full of cinnamon, banana, orange and sherried peels. finish isnt too long but is smooth and steady. lovely mouthfeel this and feels really juicy. certainly very moreish. not silly complex but plenty to taste and find in there, plus if you just want to enjoy a lovely drink then look no further. struth.
Outstanding aromas! I recommand it without hesitation!
BUT: It is so gentle and feeble that I had to give 5 stars. (I'm hungarian so I cannot name english flavours and odours) Nose: Cinnamon rolls with fresh baked pastry in the background with my grandpa's old worktable made of (I hope) oak, plus the undeniable sweetness of (you know) cherry soaked in sherry. At the end a little orange peel with subtle menthol notes which just appear in the corner of your subconcious mind. Palate: just as what you smelled but a fruity punch arrives at the end. I would like to feel a little white ground pepper but I think that is not even there! (Try it and you know what am I talking about) Finish: Medium with a cheerful fruity, oaky taste in your belly with the warmness of a winter bonefire kindling in your belly. Conclusion: A surprise for me, and a very welcome one! I think ot won't be a problem to work through myself the bottle and wrote some tasting notes. I just recommend it to everíone. Even for beginners. (Internet offers auchentoshan 3 woods and glen... everything for beginners, who want to smell, taste, like, love whisky, but) I would recommend this .
Citrus to the nose with a hint of sharp cinnamon rather than the sweet dessert cinnamon aroma, mellow oud fragrance Slightly sweet with raisin like taste on the palate, tannin is very gentle and shortlived at the back of the nose. Long warmth. Smooth to drink compared to the stuff I tried in my university days. But I thought there are still hint of sharp angles on the finishing when the drink is swallowed that could be rounded off even more.
Was surprised to find this at my local liquor store. I usually buy the Tamdhu 10 but wanted to try this 12 and I am not disappointed that I did.
