Well-sherried single malt from the Tamdhu distillery, aged for a decade in sherry oak casks. As if that wasn't quite wonderful enough, this has been presented in a delightfully retro-styled bottle. Expect a litany of "Ooooh" and "Ahhhh" noises when you whack this on the table after a good meal.
Dried orange peel, red wine, pecan and raspberry jam.
Soft red fruit followed by brown sugar and spicy clove. A touch of chocolate-covered Brazil nut.
Crystallised ginger, cacao and juicy blackcurrant.
This is one ridiculously smooth whisky. The sherry notes are all there and it has a very nice mouthful. I am usually an islay and island drinker (Laphroaig and lagavulin being my top 2 favorites)but when I'm looking for a tasty Sherried cask that is ridiculously smooth and a chocolate mouth feel I'll pour a dram of the tamdhu.
I do like a nice sherry whisky but this is by far and away the nicest that I have had. simply amazing. the person below describing it as like liquid toffee has it spot on. my favourite whisky by a long way and at an amazing price.
Flavorful and smooth beyond its age. Macallan is normally my go-to single malt with Select Oak being my favorite. Tamdhu has even more flavor, aroma, texture, and is incredibly smooth. Paired with a Fuente I had a wonderful afternoon. I plan on stocking up and seeking out the cask strength and special editions.
I bought this last week but as I have been enjoying my #whiskyadventcalendar I hadn't opened it - til last night. Oh boy. Each sip leaves you wanting the next. Deliciously smooth with no harshness in the alcohol or aroma. Just delightful. Jani
This is the most delicious smooth drink. Bought for me as a birthday present and it is the most perfect present although the problem is it is consume able so it does not last long because it is soooo Moreish. It is smooth and mellow.with a lingering aftertaste, wonderful.
