Well-sherried single malt from the Tamdhu distillery, aged for a decade in sherry oak casks. As if that wasn't quite wonderful enough, this has been presented in a delightfully retro-styled bottle. Expect a litany of "Ooooh" and "Ahhhh" noises when you whack this on the table after a good meal.
Dried orange peel, red wine, pecan and raspberry jam.
Soft red fruit followed by brown sugar and spicy clove. A touch of chocolate-covered Brazil nut.
Crystallised ginger, cacao and juicy blackcurrant.
Got to be up there as the best value whisky on the market at the moment. This is a cracking dram. All natural colour, no chill filtration and you can tell good casks have been used to produce this. If you like sherried whisky you will love this. A great sipping whisky. Ordering another bottle now.
Aberlour alike with more bite and less complex palette. Heavy cherry, oaky witch vanilla all the way. Nice dram for people that like heavily cherried scotch.
An all round good dram. I was slightly expecting more from this but then I'm used to drinking slightly more sherried whiskies than this one. An easy drinking whisky full of flavour and pleasant aftertaste.
