Well-sherried single malt from the Tamdhu distillery, aged for a decade in sherry oak casks. As if that wasn't quite wonderful enough, this has been presented in a delightfully retro-styled bottle. Expect a litany of "Ooooh" and "Ahhhh" noises when you whack this on the table after a good meal.
Dried orange peel, red wine, pecan and raspberry jam.
Soft red fruit followed by brown sugar and spicy clove. A touch of chocolate-covered Brazil nut.
Crystallised ginger, cacao and juicy blackcurrant.

Beautiful smooth whisky. The aftertaste is long and sweet like a crunchie bar mixed with dates dipped in a full bodied Rioja. No overpower of alcohol just a lovely smoothness around the mouth. I enjoy all whisky but having tasted this it is by far my favourite. Wonderful.
Beautiful smooth tasting, it’s up there with the serious single malts in my opinion, will be purchasing this again ASAP ?
Forgot to give the rating earlier. Really impressive, after second "review". Good value for the money - quite similar to GlenDronach Allardice 18YO but less than a half the price...
We had a blind tasting in which some of us thought it is a very good blend. It is a fine competitor to GlenDronach and could be the first whiskey for brandy or cognac lovers. Very well balanced, easy to drink, nice sherry cask and not the shortest sweet finish - as a 10 year SM should have. Even some fans of Islay hummed approvingly. Good job, gentlemen!
I am new to Speyside whiskies and normally go for Islay with Laphroaig being my favourite to date. I was given this bottle of Tamdhu as a birthday gift. I found it very easy on the nose. Not sharp at all but very subtle. Taste is very smooth with the deep taste developing on the tongue and the side of the mouth. There are gentle tones of vanilla and honey. As expected the peat that makes my Laphroaig is missing but the salt on the lips is there. Has a satisfying long finish. I would certainly recommend.
