    Talisker Storm

Talisker Storm was released in early 2013 as a no age statement whisky, which was matured in specifically selected refill and toasted American oak casks. An intense and vibrant dram, the Storm offers up plenty of distillery character alongside some smokier depth and complexity.

With a classic Talisker profile, a depth of beautiful flavours and a very reasonable price point, this is an ideal single malt for those thinking of exploring malts from the Scottish islands.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

Initial brine, but not as abrupt as the 10 Year Old, quite creamy by comparison. Banana. Banana angel delight? Window putty, hint of sticking plasters and barbecues, citrus. White pepper develops towards the bottom of the glass.

    Palate

Thick and mouth-coating with wood smoke, brine, some tin and chilli heat too.

    Finish

Red chilli peppers and oak dryness with a hint of embers.

    Overall

A welcome addition to the Talisker range, and probably the smokiest whisky to be produced on the Isle of Skye.

One of my all time favorites.

This has become one of my all-time favorite scotch's. Its smokiness is absolutely perfect for a scotch with no age. The price point is quite a plus too. From reading the reviews, you either like it or you don't. You must love the smoke/peat in a scotch to enjoy this bottle.

It's good, and worth the money, but I've had better.

I like how smooth it is, but I don't like that strong flavor on the back end: what is it, peat? Moss? Brine? I don't know, but if you open the top and smell it to me it smells like someone dropped some band-aids in the mix by accident. But it is smooth. It's just a really smoky smooth flavor. I have to drink more of it to be a fan. I have a bottle of Jameson Stout Edition that I think tastes better than this, and my bottle of Macallan 18 blows it out of the water. But Macallan is expensive, and once you've had the 18 it's really hard to go back to the 12. I would put this on par with Macallan 12.

Solid dram that I will probably buy again but there are so many whiskies to try...I love whisk(e)y.

I love Whisk(e)y! From Kentucky to Cork to the Isle of Skye. To me there is no such thing as a bad whisky (some are just better than others). I love sweet whiskies, I love smokey whiskies, I love whiskies that were matured in a variety of casks. Talisker 10 is just one of fifty whiskies that I love. And although I love the Storm, I think that the 10 is a wee bit more to my loving. I do love the price of the Storm.

    Tastes like old paint

I am continually shocked that Talisker Storm gets anything above one star. In fact, this whiskey is so bad I'd give it the black hole rating. It's so powerfully bad it sucks the stars from other whiskeys. 100% of the samples I've given to friends with no biased comments ahead of time results in a negative reaction. It's hard to describe the flavor. Without joking, the closest I can come is the smell the came out of the old, rusted paint can that had been stored in my garage for two decades where the liquid separated from the solids.

    Remarkable

First taste is a surprising one. Strong and smoky but the second lends to warmth and a smoothness I wasn’t expecting. Is a very fine straight drinking whisky
