Talisker Skye was introduced in early 2015, named after the beautiful island on which the distillery resides. This expression brings with it a more well-rounded and sweet flavour profile packed with fresh citrus, sweet smoke, peppery spice and traditional Talisker maritime notes.
Talisker Skye is matured in a combination of refill and toasted American oak casks, with a slightly higher proportion of toasted casks. Talisker Skye whisky is perfect for those who perhaps find the classic Talisker flavour profile a bit too much, not to say that Talisker fans won't enjoy it too.
Sweet stuff, toffees and vanilla ice cream up front, almost grain-like. Becomes increasingly honeyed. There's a little coastal influence here too, just hints of a sweet Caol Ila perhaps, with very restrained smoke.
Honeyed toasted oak, sappy wood, only a little pepper and smoke, apple turnovers and hints of lemon and lime Opal Fruits. Fennel seeds.
Drying and slightly less sweet, hints of spice and smoke.
A more approachable, sweet Talisker. 'The Isle of Skye in June'.

Rubbish - smells and tastes like antiseptic
Meh....it’s not that bad. Got this on offer at Tesco’s for £25 but I wouldn’t buy it at its usual price. It’s not smooth, no caramel or toffee apple like a Glenmorangie. It’s got a sweet yet salty taste but not like the usual Skye whiskies. There’s a little smoke there but it’s not a Laphroaig or Ardbeg. It’s almost like it’s trying to be a lot of things but none of them particularly well. Don’t think it deserves some of the harsh reviews on here but don’t think it warrants some of the gushing ones either. It’s okay, but I wouldn’t buy again simply because there’s better out there for the price. Think a few of the reviews on here are from people expecting a normal Talisker but got something with a bit of Isla in the Skye. (Not that it’s anywhere as good as most of the Isla’s out there) just that when you expect a warm salted caramel you don’t expect burnt wood chips no matter how little of it there is.
A lovely tasty whisky for my first in years….very drinkable and will certainly be coming back for more…..didn’t find it harsh but not super smooth…defo sweet….beautiful
A decent introduction to smokey, maritime whiskies. Lighter and fruitier than the 10. It’s not something I would go back to as it’s not a patch on the 10 but it’s certainly drinkable. I’d welcome a bottle as a gift but it’s not something I would purchase myself.
It reminds me of a popular outside cleaning fluid. Very disappointing . I beleive i tasted this a few years back from a well known own brand discount store . I would not buy again to think I got this methylated spirits instead of Jura .. silly me.
