    Distillery/Brand

    Talisker

    Talisker Skye

Talisker Skye was introduced in early 2015, named after the beautiful island on which the distillery resides. This expression brings with it a more well-rounded and sweet flavour profile packed with fresh citrus, sweet smoke, peppery spice and traditional Talisker maritime notes.

Talisker Skye is matured in a combination of refill and toasted American oak casks, with a slightly higher proportion of toasted casks. Talisker Skye whisky is perfect for those who perhaps find the classic Talisker flavour profile a bit too much, not to say that Talisker fans won't enjoy it too.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

Sweet stuff, toffees and vanilla ice cream up front, almost grain-like. Becomes increasingly honeyed. There's a little coastal influence here too, just hints of a sweet Caol Ila perhaps, with very restrained smoke.

    Palate

Honeyed toasted oak, sappy wood, only a little pepper and smoke, apple turnovers and hints of lemon and lime Opal Fruits. Fennel seeds.

    Finish

Drying and slightly less sweet, hints of spice and smoke.

    Overall

A more approachable, sweet Talisker. 'The Isle of Skye in June'.

A cheap and cheerful smoky Scotch

If you like Talisker Storm or 10, you’ll like this - it’s a variation on that theme, albeit not as smoky and a little sweeter. Those giving it 0 or 1 star are being a little hysterical; it’s a nice Scotch and exactly what you’d expect from Talisker. I paid £26 which is a bit of a bargain. Next time I’d pay a bit more and go for the Storm or the 10 (or back to Laphroaig 10), but this is very drinkable.

Very smokey, peaty. Love it ?

It is a strong and very peaty whisky. If you don't enjoy laphroaig, this is NOT for you. I love it. Added to some cheap Bells on a 3 part bells to 1 part Tali, it adds massively to the experience for a fraction of the cost of other posh whiskies

    Do not buy!!

Cannot drink this it tastes vile!!! I drink alot of malt with age to them but this is equivalent to being splashed with surgical spirit.

Good value and a different "heavy" scotch for proper whisky drinkers!

Warm and smokey with underlying toastiness and a kick. If you like Islay style peaty scotch you'll like this. My only complaint it isn't as smooth as top whiskies but then it probably has not been in a cask for over 8 years.

Avoid -best used as smelling salts on a rugby pitch

In the noise it smells like hospital tcp! On the Tongue it tastes like I’ve just licked a hospital floor after it has just been mopped with tcp and old whiskey
