    Talisker Skye

Talisker Skye was introduced in early 2015, named after the beautiful island on which the distillery resides. This expression brings with it a more well-rounded and sweet flavour profile packed with fresh citrus, sweet smoke, peppery spice and traditional Talisker maritime notes.

Talisker Skye is matured in a combination of refill and toasted American oak casks, with a slightly higher proportion of toasted casks. Talisker Skye whisky is perfect for those who perhaps find the classic Talisker flavour profile a bit too much, not to say that Talisker fans won't enjoy it too.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

Sweet stuff, toffees and vanilla ice cream up front, almost grain-like. Becomes increasingly honeyed. There's a little coastal influence here too, just hints of a sweet Caol Ila perhaps, with very restrained smoke.

    Palate

Honeyed toasted oak, sappy wood, only a little pepper and smoke, apple turnovers and hints of lemon and lime Opal Fruits. Fennel seeds.

    Finish

Drying and slightly less sweet, hints of spice and smoke.

    Overall

A more approachable, sweet Talisker. 'The Isle of Skye in June'.

    Not for everyone

Reading the reviews here it's obviously a marmite whisky. If you've never tried Talisker before you might find the flavour challenging. I really like Talisker, so if you don't like it please don't pour down the sink, send it to me and I suggest you go back to Speyside for your whisky. I find most Speyside dull. Not bad just dull although there are exceptions. For me the further west and north you go the more intresting the whisky. That's the beauty of whisky, there is one out there for you somewhere, probably more if you keep searching

    Undrinkable

Worst drink I have ever tasted, emailed the distillery and only got a auto blurb email in reply. Can't give the bottle away, even offered to send a sample at my expense to distillery

    Great stuff

Loved it, bit harsh maybe but well worth the price.

    Harsh

Too harsh and as many have said it tastes like disinfectant. A bit of water took the edge off slightly but still not worth the money

One of my favourites - sweet, smoky, salty amazing

My favourite of 18 Scotches in my youthful collection so far, sweet, light, smoky, and very moreish. Amazing unique flavour. People who dont understand whisky from this region may find this one unusual, I love the coastal saltiness, light smoke and sweet beautiful flavour. Recommended 110%
