Talisker Skye Bottling Note

Talisker Skye was introduced in early 2015, named after the beautiful island on which the distillery resides. This expression brings with it a more well-rounded and sweet flavour profile packed with fresh citrus, sweet smoke, peppery spice and traditional Talisker maritime notes.

Talisker Skye is matured in a combination of refill and toasted American oak casks, with a slightly higher proportion of toasted casks. Talisker Skye whisky is perfect for those who perhaps find the classic Talisker flavour profile a bit too much, not to say that Talisker fans won't enjoy it too.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Sweet stuff, toffees and vanilla ice cream up front, almost grain-like. Becomes increasingly honeyed. There's a little coastal influence here too, just hints of a sweet Caol Ila perhaps, with very restrained smoke.

Palate: Honeyed toasted oak, sappy wood, only a little pepper and smoke, apple turnovers and hints of lemon and lime Opal Fruits. Fennel seeds.

Finish: Drying and slightly less sweet, hints of spice and smoke.

Overall: A more approachable, sweet Talisker. 'The Isle of Skye in June'.

Talisker Skye Reviews

A must for all whisky fans.

A superb whisky. I find it's smokiness to be less restrained than your review but for me this is a delicious plus.

Won’t be having that again

Tastes like TCP, disgusting and a waste of money, the half of star is just for the box it was in.

Sweet Talisker

Don't get people giving this a bad rewiew. It's Talisker but it has that nice sweet side. You can sip this all day long! Not as good as storm but still... It's a Talisker with the recognizable profile. Good stuff

a very individual taste.

never had this before and found it very strong for my palate....but guess what....I got to like it so much the bottle is empty. The artwork on the wrapping is beautiful and I can't throw it away. oh hum. cheers.

Average malt top rate value

Cheap and cheerful. Not the best Talisker in the world but not bad for the money

Excellent whiskey. Would love to meet the makers.

I’m in love with this whiskey. Two nips of this glorious liquid and one ice cube and I smell caramel and Smokey peat. I take a sip and taste honey, apple and some spice. Aftertaste is just a smokey peaty malt sensation. What a wonderful creation.

Pleasantly surprised

Received as a gift and initially had my doubts that this entry level non age statement Talisker would be any good!
Well, I was pleasantly surprised with this malt and it has all notes you'd expect from a Talisker, medicinal, peat smoke and pepper spice.
Similarly to the 10, once opened it benefits from a few weeks on the shelf to allow to mellow slightly to remove some of the rough edges as its a young whisky.
I'm about 3/4 of the way through this bottle and it's improving with each glass.

A smoky, peppery delight.

Tastes like something you’d put on a cut.
That is not at all a bad thing though! Iodine, smoke, pepper. Like a tasty house fire.
For me personally it’s not an everyday whisky but one I do really enjoy when I’m in the mood for it.

Loved it, interesting, changed its complexity with a splash of water.

Not the best, but a nice peaty and smoky dram

Not the best I’ve had. But I like the smokyness. The dram is very Peary and smoky. I think the negative reviews are from people that normally drink highland or other milder whiskeys. I quite enjoyed this whiskey, but then taste is personal.
