Reviews for Talisker Neist Point
I wanted this to be great
Nose: Chorus line of peat...very balanced peat.
Palate: Peat assaults the palate unevenly but oddly balances out towards the end. Where's the brine?
After: The peat dominates the air for some time.

Complex 2
While I agree with some sentiments below that the price is going the way of all things whisky these days; too much, the quality of the whisky is of interest to many. I've had a chance to spend more time with this after purchasing a bottle, and urge others who think it is not rich to recognize it is subtle, not overpowering (e.g. Dark Storm). Price aside, this has some complexity lacking in the fantastic 57 deg N. The central note is salty and sweet peanut butter, from nose to finish, but there are many other subtle hues surrounding, including orchard fruits and their meadows. A Payday bar mixed with Now n' Later hard candy for the Yanks. And damn well balanced!

If you like Talisker buy this whisky
A wonderful dram, meant to be sipped on a snowy night in front of a fire with a lover.

disappointment
This whisky is definitely overpriced. Too common, not enough rich flavoured. Nose and palate are both inexpressive and faint. Dark Storm and 57 North are rather more complex and rich.

Peaty and wonderful... unlike any other Scotch! Been to distillery and that adds to the experience!
LOVE IT!
