Double matured Talisker from the Diageo's Distillers Edition range. Here, the smoky Isle of Skye single malt has been given a good dose of fruity sweetness from amoroso (a style of sweetened sherry) seasoned American oak casks.
Salty sea spray, bonfires, and raisin-like sweetness.
Plenty of peat, backed by sticky dates, peppery spice, and a touch of salt.
Drying oak and lingering smoke.

This is quite a nice whisky but not sure it’s worth the extra 14 quid or so more than the the standard 10yr old . Nice flavour, reasonably good finish but slightly sweeter than the standard 10.
A very lovely whisky indeed. Very smooth and easy to drink despite the 46% strength. Between the smokey peatiness and the sweet sherry, it's fullsome and very satisfying to drink. Also deceptively moreish......
This is a very versatile whisky, it works any time for any occasion. The smoke and the sherry blend perfectly.Highly enjoyable.
