    Fantastic, but...

that's hardly a surprise coming from Talisker. While this stronger-tasting entry may not quite replace the classic 10 as their "flagship" whisky, it IS, in my personal opinion, very very close, & ultra-enjoyable for special occasions, if not everyday consumption. Peppery sea-salt & smoke rule the palate here, & a pleasant burn (57% ABV) accompanies it. All in a good way, of course. In short, I love it, & recommend it if you're lucky enough to get your hands on some.

Exceptional quality, few drops of water creates an explosion of flavours

By far the best Talisker has to offer. Those who think Talisker is bad due to the very poor Skye and Storm expressions will not be disappointed with this power house.

    Salty sweet smoke

Had to get something to compare to DEd, and was going cask strength route...not disappointed. A bit sweeter than DEd, but smoke arrived at end, which is why I love Talisker. With or without water, this one is enjoyable as it hits a wide spectrum for me.

    Good

Despite the 57% abv it is very drinkable and has not a strong alcool taste. The nose is peated and peppery, strong, with notes of chilli. It is a bit "farmy" and I am not big fan of that. I prefer by far the nose of an Ardbeg Corryvrekan or Lagavulin DE more complex and smoky, like real bonfire smoke. On the palate it becomes salty and peppery again with a long aftertaste. Interesting, bit it clearly miss a bit of complexity and maturation against other NAS or islay whiskys with an age statement, in the same price range. I think I prefer the Talisker DE which is close in terms of taste, but more fruity.
